The Delegation of the Republic of South Sudan participated successfully in COP26 UK 2021

The Delegation of the Republic of South Sudan participated successfully in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC), COP26 UK 2021 Conference held in Glasgow, Scotland, which brought together heads of state and world leaders in an unprecedented push against climate change.

The Delegation was headed by Hon. Josephine Napwon Cosmos MP, Minister of Environment and Forestry, representing H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan. Due to a health emergency, Hon. Cosmos could not make it to the Conference. Therefore, Hon. Lily Albino Akol Akol MP, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security was delegated to deliver the South Sudan National Statement during the Ministerial High Level Session.

Hon. Agok Makur Kur Agok MP, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning and Hon. Akol led the Delegation through various negotiations.
